Helio Rodrigues is a freelance artist, who since young age has been travelling extensively.
This has strongly influenced his work and the way he perceives human life.

He was born in Porto, Portugal, 1985.

In 2003, at the age of 17, he felt uninspired by the repetition of a routine life. Intending to broaden his horizons and brighten the colours of his mind, he moved to London.

Enthusiastic about the art of arranging image and text to communicate messages and feelings, he graduated with a degree in Graphic and Digital Design from the University of Greenwich.
After five consecutive years having London as a base, it was time to leave the rat race behind and start his search for new smells and sounds and headed for new continents and cultures.

It was a culture shock when he found himself on Indian ground in 2008. Moved by the people inhabiting this different world, their faces and expressions became engraved in his mind. With the need to capture and record these moments, he started his own photography project. He is passionate about portrait, B&W and loves playing with lighting and constrast.

Having always been connected to animals and as an animal activist, he felt devastated by the conditions of the strays in India. As a team on a mission, he and his partner decided to help in their own way and rescued a little puppy from the side of a dusty road in the Himalayas. After a period of introspection he went back to India in 2009 and was doing volunteer work in animal welfare and environmental related projects.

Recently in 2010, he has been living in Thailand and focusing on new photography projects.

Already been in more than 25 countries and lived in 5 between Europe and Asia, Helio lives a nomad life.
A wondering and wandering lifestyle.

His main influences and inspiration are artists like Toscani, Fletcher, Magritte, Sagmeister or Sir Peter Blak.
